The Master’s in Professional IT Business & Digitalization (Pro ITD) is an English-taught international Master’s program at HTW Berlin – University of Applied Sciences, one of the biggest public universities of applied sciences in the region.  Non-EU students require a student visa (Visum zu Studienzwecken). After graduation, you can extend your residence permit for up to 18 months to find a job in Germany and eventually receive a residence permit for a EU working visa.

 Yes. Most of the Pro ITD alumni have been able to find a full-time position already in their final thesis semester. They can apply for an EU Blue Card visa for qualified work with a respective residence permit. Alternatively, international graduates of German public universities are eligible to stay and work in Germany for up to 18 months post-graduation under the framework of a job-seeking visa. 

Yes, this is possible. The German study visa permits you to work 140 full days or 280 half days which is equal to 20 hours /week. Most of our Pro ITD students work along with their studies in student assistant positions allowing them to gain further work experience in Germany. 

The Pro ITD programme is entirely taught in English. However, learning basic German helps with daily life and increases employability in German companies. The programme offers intensive German language courses before the start of the studies as well as prior to each semester. 

 Yes, HTW Berlin is a state-recognised public university accredited by German authorities. Degrees awarded are internationally recognised and valued globally.  A Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften such as HTW Berlin focuses on applied sciences and real-world skills, making graduates highly employable. The degree holds the same academic value as one from a traditional Universität.

The Master’s Programme Professional IT Business and Digitalization is a fee-based  international programme. Total tuition fees amount to €14,250 for three semesters, payable in three monthly installments of €4,750 each: the first during admission/enrollment, with subsequent payments before each new semester. 

For applicants from India: To avoid visa delays, tuition for both the first and second semesters must be fully paid or demonstrated (e.g., blocked account) before arrival.

While this is a paid programme, total costs—including tuition and semester fees—are typically lower than equivalent master’s degrees in the US or UK.  Yes, international students can apply for DAAD scholarships or country-specific funding. HTW Berlin also assists with scholarship guidance.

Another way to finance the studies is to work as a working student.

 Applicants need:

• A Bachelor’s degree (minimum 210 ECTS, 180 ECTS are also possible in certain cases) in relevant field such as IT, Computer Science, Engineering or Business Applications from other Academic backgrounds are eligible if the overall profile suit the programme
• English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL accepted): Level C1, or at least B2.
• Relevant  work experience of at least twelve months

 No. GMAT or GRE scores are not required for admission to Pro ITD.

 Candidates with strong business or engineering backgrounds may apply, provided they demonstrate basic programming or IT systems knowledge or have gained relevant previous work experience

Applications for Intake 2026 open in November 2025 and close on 28^th February 2026 (for most international applicants).

No, we don’t use Uni-Assist. Please, submit your application directly on the application form on our website. There are no fees charged for the application. 

Each cohort admits around 22-25 students, maintaining an ideal student–faculty ratio for personalised mentorship.
