Work opportunities

Many international students in Germany have side work. Besides scholarship it is also a good way to support yourself while studying.
International students have following options:

  • Part-time work. Students who do not come from the EU, EEA or Switzerland are allowed to work 120 full or 240 half days in a year.
  • Internship. For students who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland paid and unpaid internships are also considered regular work and are subject to the 120 full/240 part-time days per year rule.
  • Mini-job rules apply if the student earns no more than 450€  per month.
