Required qualifications
The Master of Science in "Professional IT Business and Digitalization" is a postgraduate degree programme.
For admission to the Professional IT Business and Digitalization study programme you require:
- a Bachelor’s degree with 210 ETCS, at least 180 ETCS
- at least one year of professional experience after your Bachelor’s degree
- Good knowledge of English
If less than 210 credit points (but at least 180) or less work experience, other study-relevant previous achievements may be recognised or admission requirements imposed.
Knowledge of German is not required for the Master's study programme in Professional IT Business and Digitalization. The programme is taught entirely in English.
Application process
Fill out the application form of the Master's study programme Professional IT Business and Digitalization and submit all of the following required documents.

For applying you need following:
- Passport/Identity card
- Degree certificate
- Transcript of records and an explanation of the grading system
- Proof of work experience
- Proof of English proficiency
- CV
Submit the listed documents along with your application. Please note, if your documents are in another language, provide an English or German translation as well.
More detailed information:
- Passport/Identity card
Provide a copy of your passport or identity card.
- Degree certificate
Provide a copy of your degree certificate in either English or German. Applicants from China, Vietnam or Mongolia please submit a certificate from the academic test center (APS). Further information can be found on the website of the German embassy in your country.
Please note that since 2022 for applicants from India, an APS certificate will be mandatory part of the documents submitted with the visa application. For more detailed information, please consult www.aps-india.de.
- Transcript of records and an explanation of the grading system
Provide a copy of your transcript of records in either English or German.
Provide an explanation of the grading system at your previous university (if it is not explained on your transcript).
- Proof of work experience
Provide evidence of at least one year of professional experience after the first university degree.
We accept official confirmation letters from employers detailing the period of employment. If you are self-employed, you can send contracts and/or tax returns, also detailing the position and the period of employment. The information shall be provided in English or German.
- Proof of English proficiency
Acceptable documents include: TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic Test, comparable test giving CEFR level, proof of study in a university-level programme conducted in English for at least one year, or graduation with a complete English-language degree.
No proof needed if the official language in the country of origin is English.
*However, a separate language proficiency certificate might still be necessary for the visa application process to fulfill the visa requirements.

Selection process
Study places for the Master's Programme Professional IT Business and Digitalization are allocated based on the following selection criteria:
- Average grade of the first professional university degree
- Subject of the previous study programme (Business Informatics, Applied Computer Science, Media Informatics, Environmental Informatics)
- Proof of English language skills based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages levels
You have been accepted
If you are accepted to the Pro ITD programme, you will then mail us:
- certified official copies of the degree certificate
- certified official copies grade transcript
- signed study contract
Make a copy of the original documents and take both versions (copy and original) to your university OR a notary public OR the German Embassy OR any other person/institution authorised to notarise/authenticate/certify documents. Have the copies notarised as true copies of the original. Keep the originals and send us the notarised hard copies by post, together with your signed study contract.
